Tissues: tissues are embriologically ensembles of cells of the same origin, structure and function. The identical cell genomes of lower rate organisms are alone suitable for fulfilling all vital functions. However, in higher rate organisms (such as in humans) work is divided among cells, different genes are active in different cell types. Cells that are specialized to do a certain task create cellular groups. Cells within tissues are embedded into the so called intercellural space which is made up of gelatinous ground substance and fibers. The quantitative rate of cellular and intercellular substance and the shape of cells is different in various kinds of tissues.
